“Dear Paul Kingsnorth,
Too late to wish you the best of luck. Sorry. The game’s over: AI won.”
This morning my inbox revealed the fulfillment of a dream by Paul Kingsnorth, the author of his latest best-seller Against the Machine. Our son gave me a copy of it for Christmas, and I’ve dutifully begun reading it. In the book, he praises the Luddites of past centuries, and seems to have adopted much of that worldview for himself.
