(For an explanation of the days of Holy Week, go to Holy Week in A First-Century View of Yeshua, the Messiah: https://agape-biblia.org/First-Century-View-appendix.htm)
In my companion book The Good News of Yeshua, the Messiah (above) you will find each of the Gospel passages arranged in chronological order, so you can get the full picture of Holy Week. Let’s consider the immediate events that led up to the Crucifixion:
Thursday (Friday) of Holy Week: keep in mind that in Jewish culture the day begins at sunset, so Holy Thursday begins on what we in the West call Wednesday at sunset: see https://agape-biblia.org/biblia02/prilozhe/Good-News.htm#3.V. It starts with the Last Supper. In ancient Jewish tradition, the meal consumed just before the 15th of Nisan is called the korban Pesach, or Passover sacrifice, the day on which the Passover lamb is sacrificed. So Yeshua is showing that He is the perfect Passover Lamb that takes away the sins of the whole world.
